TLA Lacrosse Development Initiative
Thailand Lacrosse Association (TLA) with the support of Sunattee Growth Initiative (SGI) Foundation establishing the Thailand Lacrosse Development Initiative to assist with growing the game at the grass root level in Thailand. With the primary aim to set up additional lacrosse programs within the secondary school level, after TLA has established program the university level with several universities in Bangkok. SGI will provide the funding to the school that has expressed it’s interest in starting a lacrosse program, as well as funding the “road show” clinic on the weekend at different school across the greater Bangkok, and the surrounding provinces.
SGI the non-profit organization base out of Bangkok have previously funded the development effort in Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia in recent years purchasing equipment, and apparel to the said countries. Now the TLA and SGI have shifted it’s focus to domestic development, growing the future generation of lacrosse players to compete at the international level. One of it’s primary focus is to restructure, and support the homegrown women’s program, finding clinician, and the coach to turn it into the year round program such as the men’s.
In the coming months, there will be a clinic once a month in various location. Some will be in conjunction with the TLA men’s team monthly practices, which will be conducted prior to the practice. TLA and SGI is working closely with it’s partner to help with the necessary supports to make this development initiative a successful one.
